AN ULTRA-NEW NEW ENGINE AND A BRAND NEW ENGINE CAPACITY FOR FLAGSHIP GTS, AVAILABLE IN THE 125 AND 150 VERSIONS
Il Gruppo Piaggio si presenta a Intermot 2016, il salone di Colonia che apre la stagione delle grandi manifestazioni per il mondo due ruote, con una importante novità che riguarda Vespa, il più prestigioso dei brand tra gli scooter che proprio quest’anno ha festeggiato i suoi primi favolosi settanta anni.
The new i-get engine makes its début on the Vespa flagship in the 125 and 150 cc engine sizes.
And so, the large GTS uses the most technologically advanced powerplant: brilliant performance and low consumption thanks to a new and ultra-high efficiency. Two engine sizes are available: 125 and 150 cc, both Euro 4 compliant, electronic injection, four-valve timing and liquid cooled. These are engines at the top of their respective categories in terms of performance and environmental friendliness. And the new Piaggio Group patented Start & Stop system called RISS (Regulator Inverter Start & Stop System) makes its début on the Vespa. This system does away with the traditional starter motor, which is replaced by a brushless “direct mount” electrical unit, in other words, installed directly on the crankshaft.
Also, now standard on all models in the Vespa GTS range are the remote control to open the saddle and Bike Finder, extremely convenient for finding your Vespa in a crowded car park by making the turn indicators flash.
The large, convenient, comfortable, extraordinarily protective Vespa GTS combines its elegantly urban and city spirit with the travel and tourism vocation which large Vespas have always embodied. From the GS in 1955 to the PX in 1978, touching on the Vespa Rally in 1968, the largest Vespas have always combined excellent performance and comfort, even on the longest and most demanding routes.
Vespa therefore reaffirms its technological cutting-edge which has always marked its past and introduces one of the most modern, advanced and safest vehicles in the world.
